The evening began with a dinner served by Continental Cafeteria from 6 to 6:45 PM.

Following the meeting, attendees enjoyed a 1.5 CEU presentation by Jennifer Seven, MS, on “Steps and Tools for promoting Wellness in the Workplace: the critical role of the Occupational Health Nurse.

We note with regret that Artemis, our dinner meeting caterer for 2 years, will not have the contract at the Ford Office building after tonight. Artemis will be in touch with Joe Ann Conrades, our planning committee chair, about where her next contract will be and whether we can follow her to that location. In the meantime, we will also search for other locations within DC for our dinner meetings starting next fall. We may stay at the Ford Office building if the new concessionaire of the cafeteria is willing to cater a dinner meeting 5 x per year.

MWAOHN members will be surveyed over the summer to determine their preferences on elements of our dinner meetings.

23 CEU Certificates were awarded. The presentation was very well received.

At 8:10 PM, drawing for door prizes was held. Besides our usual door prizes, we had a very special prize: a scholarship to the Regional Occupational Health Conference on October 25, 2008

This was in order to allow our guests and non-voting attendees to leave before the annual business meeting started.

12 door prizes were given. The most cherished one, the ROHC scholarship, was won by Yvette Griffin, a MWAOHN member.

Roll call; agenda was adopted, minutes of the May 2007 annual meeting were approved, announcement of results of this spring’s election; committee reports

After roll call verified that a quorum was present, the tellers report was read by the Nominating Committee Chair, Phyllis Waslo, since due to illness and mishap, none of our three tellers were able to be present. Treasurer’s report was distributed, reviewed, and found to be in good standing. All other annual reports were presented and accepted.

Election results:

President ’08 to ’10:

Virgina Rauer

Vice President ’08 – ’10:

Joe Ann Conrades

Treasurer ’08 – ‘10:

Mary Doyle

Secretary ’08 to ’10:

Barbara Hayden

New director:

Lillie Mitchell

Nominating Committee:

Unfortunately, Lillie and Mary were not present for photos.
