Scientists Find Molecular Link between Circadian Rhythms and Metabolism
Scientists have discovered that an essential protein called CLOCK regulates the body’s circadian rhythms, Disruption
of circadian rhythms have been shown to profoundly influence human health. Circadian rhythm disruption has been
linked to cancer, insomnia, depression, metabolic disorders, and coronary heart
diseases. The study findings help explain why sleep pattern disruption or lack of rest leads to increased hunger, resulting in obesity and other illnesses. Read the story at: http://www.today.uci.edu/news/release_detail.asp?key=1799
