Researchers develop potential non-Hodgins lymphoma vaccine from tobacco
Researchers report in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences USA that an experimental vaccine grown in genetically engineered tobacco plants, has been proven safe. The vaccine triggered the immune systems of 11 of 16 volunteers to attack their B-cell lymphoma tumors. Researcher hope that the vaccine will one day be a supplement to chemotherapy used in lymphoma treatment.
