Comprehensive Health
Services, Inc. is responding to a proposal for on-site medical services for a
client located in Radford, VA. These positions will be contingent
upon award to CHS. We are looking for candidates for the positions listed
below.
Staffing/Hours
Staff the clinic to include
the following personnel and shift configuration:
Medical Director (2 hours
per week)
Operator will provide
physician supervision for the on-site clinic. The physician will provide
oversight to the on-site staff and provide overall clinical direction to the
clinical staff. In addition, the medical director will:
Analyzes reports and
findings of tests and of examination, and diagnoses condition;
Outlines standard treatment
protocols for examinations, medication, vaccination, and other specialized
medical care to treat or prevent injury;
Oversees maintenance of
case histories, health examination reports, and other medical records;
Works with parent entity to
ensure operations are consistent with medical policy and professional standards
in occupational medicine, standards of physician associations (ie. ACOEM), and
Operator policies and procedures;
Participates in the
development, implementation and revision of policies affecting medical
practice, judgment and quality of occupational health care;
Assists in the development
and presentation of instruction and education programs for physicians, nurses
and other personnel employed by or associated with Operator and/or employers;
Assures compliance with
licensing, certification, and accrediting bodies;
Meets with employer to
discuss health and safety needs, and to conduct workplace walkthroughs and
other on-site assessments;
Provides guidance to other
medical staff (i.e. nurse practitioner, nurses, and medical assistants) to
ensure Operator/cllient mission of providing services listed below is achieved.
Mid-Level Provider - Physician Assistant or Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (40 hours per
week Monday-Friday- 1st shift)
A Physician Assistant
and/or Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) provides health care
services under the direction/supervision of a physician. They are
formally trained to provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health care
services, as delegated by a physician. Working as members of the health care
team, they take medical histories, examine and treat patients, order and
interpret laboratory tests and x-rays, make diagnoses, and prescribe
medications. They also treat minor injuries, by suturing, splinting, and
casting. They also record progress notes, instruct and counsel patients, and
orders or carries out therapy. In the state of Virginia, they may also prescribe
medications, with appropriate physician supervision. This level of
clinician will allow the client to maximize the available health care services
on-site. Specifically, services that can be performed by the mid-level include:
Respiratory medical
examinations
Travel Health medical
examinations
Injury treatment
Disability case review and
counsel
A mid-level provider offers
many positive attributes to an on-site program. It is important to note that
the ARNP must work under the collaborative agreement of a physician and the PA
works under the supervision of a licensed physician; this does not mean the
physician must be on-site. Operator will ensure that the PA/ARNP receives
the direction as outlined by the state Code. A written collaborative
agreement/standing orders will also be in place that outlines the clinical
procedures that the mid-level can perform on-site.
Certified Occupational
Health Nurse (COHN)/Registered Nurse(RN)
COHN’s/RNs work to promote
health, prevent disease, and help patients cope with illness. They are
advocates and health educators for patients, families, and communities. When
providing direct patient care, they observe, assess, and record symptoms,
reactions, and progress in patients; assist physicians and/or mid-level
providers, with treatments, and examinations; administer medications; and
assist in convalescence and rehabilitation. RNs also develop and manage nursing
care plans, instruct patients and their families in proper care, and help
individuals and groups take steps to improve or maintain their health. They
also offer health counseling, conduct health examinations and inoculations, and
assess work environments to identify potential or actual health problems. The
head nurse will be a Registered Nurse with occupational health care experience,
as well as health coaching.
Clinical duties for an
On-Site Registered Nurse may include the following items:
Assesses
occupational/non-occupational illnesses, determines the need for immediacy of
treatment, and gives guidance to seek care from personal health care providers;
Performs health screenings
and health assessments and assists with follow up procedures
