MWAOHN RAFFLE

ATTEND THE 2012 AAOHN CONFERENCE

Dear MWAOHN Members,

The MWAOHN Board voted at our last teleconference meeting that we would send ONE LUCKY MEMBER to the AAOHN conference in Nashville this spring April 22 - 25. All expenses will be paid up to a limit of $ 2, 500. (you can attend the pre-conference April 20 - 22 instead of, or in addition to, the regular conference - it's your choice!)

This is how the raffle will work:

1.
You need to be a "card carrying, paid up member" of AAOHN and MWAOHN (actually, you all are already in that category - I just got your names from the AAOHN web site's current paid up member list!)  If you have friends who might have let their membership lapse, tell them about this so they will "re-up" their membership ASAP.

2.
You will need to have attended at least one (1) of our dinner meetings in the 2011- 2012 season. If you attended in September or November, you're already qualified. If you have not attended a meeting yet this season, you need to attend the January 18 or the March 21 meeting.

3.
At the March 21 meeting, all members who qualify will be given a raffle ticket and the raffle ticket will be drawn out of a special lucky hat. You do not need to be present to win; Sharon Striker is going to keep track of all qualified members and will put your raffle ticket into the hat on your behalf. The name of the winner will be drawn at the beginning of the March 21 meeting, around 6:20 PM.

4.
If you know right now that you cannot go to the AAOHN April Conference in Nashville because of work or family commitments, please let Sharon Striker know right away. She will take you off the "contender" list. We don't want to pull the name of someone who cannot go! Sharon's e-mail is: strikers@si.edu

I'm very excited to be announcing this raffle; I'm very proud that our board wants to support your continuing professional growth in this way.

Oh, one last thing. If you plan to be in the raffle, make you decision now about which days of the conference you would like to attend. Then,
SUBMIT YOUR TIME OFF REQUEST to your supervisor (FOH nurses need to give time off requests at least a month's ahead. ) If you don't win, you can remove the time off request easily.

Go browse the AAOHN web site for information about the conference to help you decide whether to be on the contender list or to decline:
